Bank Holiday Monday 28th August 2017
Funded by the Big Lottery Fund we have developed a Community Arts Project in collaboration with the trustees of Kidwelly Industrial Museum called ‘Drawing on the Past’.
Which has comprised of 3 Sketchbook Walks in the Kidwelly Area open to all abilities, ages and focusing on the Industrial Heritage of the Kidwelly area:
- The Castle Walk to Kidwelly Castle
- Kidwelly Quay
- Kidwelly Industrial Museum (including a tour)
Sketches from these events (submitted by participants) have been collated and developed into a design for the Mural Painting event at the Kidwelly Industrial Museum.
The Mural will be painted on the Reception Block of the Museum by the general public and supported and guided by the four artists from the Gwendraeth Arts Lab:
Roz Moreton, Lucy Donald, Sian Barlow and Lindsey Witcombe.
The ‘Drawing on the Past’ project has been supported by the Big Lottery Fund, The Kidwelly Industrial Museum and at the Mural Painting Day by Caffi Iechyd Da, which will be providing a community picnic for the event and a FREE Bus from Kidwelly Town centre courtesy of Burns Pet Food.
