Drawing Autumn Online session

For our online session this Saturday 10th October 2020 we are going to experiment with Drawing Autumn inspired by turning colours of nature.

For this session you need to raid your garden or hedgerow or park any where leaves, branches, flowers, brambles, check these out for inspiration…

Inspiration from Artists

Alan Burgess & Wilhelmina Barns-Graham and our very own Sian Barlow


  • You will need coloured pencils, best to sharpen them first and section then into colours
  • You will need oil coloured pastels
  • Lots sheets of paper, coloured paper
  • Cut up into squares – odd sizes will do,
  • different colours too – paint some paper before hand
  • Some bigger paper – A4 +
  • Plus scissors or a sharp knife, masking tape

Session Details

  • We will do a warm-up using our bodies and minds…
  • Then into a series of exercises using coloured pencils making delicious fine line marks experiments, drawing around the shapes of our foliage on our little squares…
    • using quick line techniques
    • other hand
    • blind
    • 360/180/90/45 degree sketches
    • Blending and blurring lines…
  • Then using our big sized paper using the oil pastels we will repeat the exercises…
  • The we will start cutting the paper and constructing the squares together to reconstruct Autumn !!

Location: From the comfort of your own home through Zoom ( Zoom – not used it before then you will have to sign up it FREE)
